District Court contract negotiators neededAttention District Court employees who are members of Local 2822. We are looking for union members willing to participate in the contract negotiating process we will be starting for AFSCME Council 14 District Court employees with State Court Administration. The contract negotiations survey for District Court employees is now being prepared. Look for it. But we need a larger group of union members to help put together the negotiations proposals we will be taking to the union negotiating committee which is being set up with AFSCME Councils 14 and 65 represented District Court union members. There will probably be a total of two or three meetings of a couple hours each beginning in late January and continuing in February. Please don't assume that someone else outside of District Court will do it, because you will be working on your new contract which will not cover Local 2822 members in other County Departments. If you are interested please contact one of your District Court co-workers: Denise Olson, Jean Waskosky, Sheila Ross, Nancy Smart and Lynne Kelly (Judge Crump's judicial clerk). Please give them your phone number and email address so we can notify you about the first meeting. Also, any District Court employee represented by Local 2822 who would like a copy of the current AFSCME Council 65 contract with State Court Administration please contact any of the people listed above. Be sure to leave you current home address and a copy will be mailed to you. We will be using this document in preparing negotiating proposals. |
