Nomination of officers at February meetingAll positions on the Local 2822 Executive Board will be open for nominations at the February 4th Membership Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Ridgedale Library. The Executive Board positions are president, vice president, recording secretary, treasurer, membership secretary, two co-chief stewards, and four At Large members. Nominations will also be taken for two trustee positions one ending in 2004 and one ending in 2006. There are three trustees, who serve three-year terms, and their duty is to audit the local's books at least once a year. One trustee position has been vacated and the other is up for election. Our local is entitled to five delegates to the Central Labor Union and to five alternates. Anyone who is interested in any of these positions and/or has questions, should contact any current board member. Their phone numbers are on the officer list web page. Some positions are currently vacant. This is going to be an important year for our local with negotiations beginning in early summer, so this would be a good time to get involved. |
