Vacation donation requestsWe have requests from two Local 2822 members and a member of Local 34 for vacation donations. This is a marvelous way to help one another, and if everyone would donate a few hours it would help these individuals through some really rough times. Tonya Bridgeman from the Brookdale Service Center is going through a difficult pregnancy and her doctor has not allowed her to work. She still has several weeks until delivery and, of course, will need time after the baby arrives.
Anne Barsto-Pounds from Children, Family and Adult Services, unit 7122, accounting, is also requesting vacation donations. Her 10-year-old son, Zachary (Zach), has been diagnosed with leukemia and has begun an extensive treatment regime. Anne is expected to be out of work or just working part time for the next few months due to the need to be with her son as he goes through treatment. Vacation donations would be greatly appreciated. There is a web page for tracking Zach's recovery and sending messages. It is: Melissa Roberts, from Local 34, is a social worker at 710 West Broadway. Melissa is donating a kidney to her mother and will be required to take six weeks off. She has some time accrued, but will need approximately two weeks of vacation time donated. For those of you who are willing to donate time, forms are available from department payroll contacts or the Benefits intranet site (see instructions below). Information on how to do this is available on the HC Intranet site, through the links - Online Documents - Online Forms - All HR Forms - Vacation Donation. (The preceding link will only work if you are logged on to a county computer.) If you aren't computer accessible at work, ask your supervisor or contact Benefits for a form. |
