Care Committee—meetings running very long—there are 3 proposals from Health
Partners, Medica, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield—many issues still on the
table—Labor Relations and Benefits would like recommendation by 9/15 to enable
open enrollment in November 2003
With
regards to Management’s health care proposal for part time workers—Part time
new hires would not get health insurance—current employees would be
“grandfathered” in

was discussion at the meeting re: the Simply Wrong campaign going on at the State—public employees &
health insurance—Council E-Board asking for donations to help defray the cost
for the ads—they paid $93,000—Motion approved to send $250-$500 donation to
Council 6

re: Is it political? Which account should the money come from? $250 if it’s a
political contribution coming from our PAC account--$500 if it’s from our
regular account--Treasurer will decide

Room, 16 A—standing rules allow for lost time to be used to attend meeting

approved to amend E-Board recommendation and send 2 people—M. Malecki & S.
Sudduth—will pay registration, airfare, lost time and per diem for up to 3
days—also spend $200 locally to raise awareness and mobilize our
membership—bringing in speakers, etc.
