<div class="column"> The contract vote on July 9th resulted in the failure of the proposal to have any part of our severance pay deposited in a HCSP. </div>The opportunity to vote was made available at seven Hennepin County locations with a mini- mum of 88.5 hours of volunteer time devoted to the vote that day. Several hours were spent by the Ballot Committee determining the sites and the other minutia involved in such a vote. Several volunteers prepared the ballot boxes on July 8, which then had to be transported to the polling sites. After the boxes were collect- ed, several hours were spent counting the votes. Members of Local 34 and 2864 volunteered as neutral parties to count the votes. We would like to thank all those who participated: those of you who voted, who volunteered to conduct polling, and those who organized the vote.
